On-Page SEO: Ranking signals start with what's actually on the page
On-page SEO is everything that happens before a user arrives: the title tag that determines whether they click, the H1 that tells Google what the page is about, the content structure that signals topical authority, and the internal links that distribute PageRank across your site. The most valuable on-page improvements aren't always the most technical. A title tag that accurately describes the page and creates a reason to click can move your CTR more than a weeks-long content expansion project. Meta descriptions aren't a ranking factor, but they directly influence whether someone clicks your result or the one below it. One trap to avoid: don't optimize in isolation. A title tag with a forced keyword that reduces CTR is worse than a clean, natural title. A heading structure stuffed with keyword variations confuses readers and adds no ranking value. The goal is clarity, for users first, for search engines second.
