How it works

  • Conversion runs entirely in your browser using PDF.js — your file is never uploaded to any server.
  • Each PDF page is rendered to a canvas at the selected resolution and exported as a JPEG image.
  • 144 DPI is ideal for presentations and web use. Use 288 DPI for print-quality output.

Why Convert PDF to JPG?

JPEG images are universally supported — social media platforms, email clients, presentation tools, and image editors all accept JPG natively. PDFs, while ideal for print and archival, cannot be directly inserted into most tools without conversion.

Converting PDFs to JPG is useful for sharing slides and presentations, extracting pages for social media posts, converting scanned documents for OCR tools, and creating thumbnails or preview images from PDF reports.

This tool renders each page using PDF.js (Mozilla)— the same library that powers Firefox's built-in PDF viewer — ensuring accurate, faithful rendering of text, graphics, and layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about PDF to JPG conversion and how this tool works.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. All processing happens entirely in your browser using PDF.js. Your PDF never leaves your device — safe for confidential documents, contracts, and sensitive files.

What resolution should I choose?

144 DPI (2× scale) is ideal for web uploads, presentations, and email. Choose 288 DPI for print-quality output. 72 DPI produces smaller screen-only images.

Can I convert a multi-page PDF?

Yes. Every page is converted to a separate JPG. Download individual pages or use 'Download All' to get every page at once.

Will password-protected PDFs work?

No. Encrypted PDFs need to be unlocked first. Remove the password before converting, then optionally re-add it with our PDF Locker.

What affects the output image quality?

Resolution (DPI) determines pixel dimensions — higher DPI = larger, sharper images. JPEG quality (50–100%) controls compression — 92% gives excellent quality at reasonable file size.

Why are my converted images blurry?

Switch to a higher resolution: 216 DPI or 288 DPI. PDFs with very small text or fine graphics require higher DPI for sharp output.
